Parents can claim free school meals for their children if they are in receipt of the new Universal Credit, which is a single monthly payment for people in or out of work. This has replaced the old criteria of Income-based Jobseekers’ Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support Allowance, Income Support, Child Tax Credits etc.
If the child is in Year 6, then a School Uniform Voucher currently worth £105, can be claimed which can be used towards school uniform including PE uniform for comprehensive school. This is a one-off payment for Year 7 pupils only.
If you’d like to find out if you qualify, then please phone the Civic Centre on the direct line 635353 (press option 9), or email email@example.com for general information.
