On 20th January Mr Lunt and some of the school’s Restorative Practice Pupil Ambassadors (Hannah-May Cardiff, Megan Hill, Kelsey Parsons, Abi Giddings and Tamsin Lewis) visited Glyncollen Primary School to deliver a Restorative Practice training and information sharing session to the ‘Glyncollen Guardians’ – a group of Year 5 and 6 pupils who will now use their newly learnt restorative practice skills to help out the other pupils at the school during break and lunch times by helping to resolve any minor disagreements and problems that they might have, often without the need to involve staff.
The session which involved a lot of role play using the restorative practice questions in order to solve a variety of common problems went extremely well with all of the pupils involved joining in throughout the day, learning valuable new skills and thoroughly enjoying themselves in the process. I was extremely impressed with the problem solving skills shown by the majority of the pupils during the course of the day and look forward to them joining my Restorative Practice Pupil Ambassador team when they move to MCS in September.
I would like to thank my RP Pupil Ambassadors for their support throughout the day, they behaved impeccably throughout and were a credit to the school, acting as excellent role models to the other pupils throughout the day.
Mr G. Lunt
