As a part of our continued push to raise the profile and importance of regular reading, teachers and support staff provided pictures of their book shelves (their Shelfie) and pupils were asked to try and guess who the person was just by seeing the books that they have read.
Congratulations to the two individual winners from year 8 and our group winners from year 10:
Research shows that pupils who read for 20 minutes each day score in the top 10% on standardised tests while pupils who read for just 1 minutes per day score in the bottom 10%.
Please support your child by ensuring that they always have a book with them, every day. We start each week here at Morriston with a 20 minute silent reading registration every Monday morning with another during the week at the form tutor’s discretion.
