Pupils of the week 25th November

As a school we are always looking for ways to recognise the effort and achievement of our pupils. Teaching staff consistently reward pupils, who have gone over and above in their effort in lessons, with positive phone calls home and departmental post cards. In addition to this staff will now nominate a ‘Pupil of the week’ . One pupil from Key stage 3 and one pupil from key stage 4 will receive a nomination from each department. The Progress Leader will be informed and will contact home to inform parents/carers with the good news. The pupils nominated will receive a ‘front of queue’ lunch pass for the following week.

Zambia visit to MCS

We extend a warm Welsh welcome next week  (14th – 18th October) to two Zambian guests.

Mr Zulu and Mrs Nirayenda join us through the British Council’s Connecting classrooms through Global learning program and will be with us for the whole week.

They will be meeting our pupils and teachers and working alongside them to highlight the similarities and differences in our schools with a focus on environmental work, in particular the amount of plastic we use. (and they do not)

Keep an eye on the website and our twitter feed for updates on their activities during their visit.

Special thanks to Mrs Lynn Williams, pastoral officer for her hard work and organisation in putting this reciprocal visit together.
