Mr Franklin, Head Teacher.

My aim is very straight forward: quite simply I want Morriston Comprehensive to be an outstanding school that is inclusive and allows all students to achieve their maximum potential.  A school that will achieve high academic standards, whilst providing a supportive structure that develops the skills our young people will need in the future.

Our focus is on raising aspiration and expectation. The emphasis being on setting challenging targets, monitoring progress and providing consistently ‘excellent’ lessons on a daily basis, in an environment that allows teachers to teach and learners to learn.

Although our emphasis is on academic achievement we are also very proud of the wider achievement of our students. We provide a wide range of sporting, musical, dramatic, artistic and cultural opportunities and we believe strongly that every student has a special talent. Our job is to find it, nurture it and allow it to flourish.

Morriston has gone through some challenging times over recent years, but I have inherited a £22 million learning environment that is truly world class, pupils that are second to none and a talented staff that are fully committed to making Morriston a school we can all be proud of.

If you are thinking of sending your child to Morriston I would encourage you to arrange to come and see our school in action, I think you will be impressed.

Thank you to our parents and carers for entrusting us with your children. We will not let you down.

Martin Franklin (Head Teacher).
